Popping up in Shoreditch: Kangol

October 09 2012

Boxpark, a new retail concept of bite-size international labels, opened in December in the centre of Shoreditch, east London. With two major headwear brands Kangol and New Era, this new form of consumer-friendly and approachable retail sends out a new message for shoppers of high fashion streetwear. The Boxpark is a handful of companies all grouped in one spot- and each one has space within a repurposed sea container, stacked side by side and on top of one another. A fashion commune! Heaven.

Julie Swan, Managing Director, Kangol Headwear said; “We’ve always wanted a store in London, being that England is where the brand originated in 1938. The Pop-Up concept also works well with the idea of moving our popup space to major cities around the globe.”

We also heard that the founder, Roger Wade, may be planning a second, even larger (!!), Boxpark for London with sites in other UK and European fashion cities. Very excited about that (although our wallets are a bit nervous..).
